The Internet Advisor is a weekly show on WJR with Gary Baker, Ed Rudel and veteran WJR announcer Foster Braun that puts listeners in touch with the exploding world of the Internet in a way that is intriguing to the "unplugged" and valuable to frequent users of the Internet for business and pleasure. The show also seeks to promote the development of IT and high tech business interests throughout the state of Michigan and to encourage the participation of young people in the new frontiers of digital technology.
“All roads lead to Rome” and nowadays more and more roads are leading through the Internet to daily lives. Special guests, hot news items and special topics like Internet security set the tone for the first hour. During the second hour, phone lines are then opened for discussion of the subject at hand or general questions about getting to, working on, and the using of the Internet. Ed Rudel’s vast experience as a support technician for EDS adds the practical touch along with Gary’s decades of experience with the Internet including founding his own ISP.
Regular contributors also include:
The weekly Tech Buzz Report with Tom Diroff explores the week’s top technology developments, security alerts, hardware breakthroughs and a consistently unanswerable trivia question.
Teen Tech every month with Lauren Baker highlights the Internet and computers from the perspective of the natives of this new digital world and deals with chatting online, webcam programs and social networking sites for example.
