Environmentally Sound
The University of Toledo’s monthly program, "Environmentally Sound," is hosted by Larry Burns, Vice President of External Affairs at The University of Toledo. “Environmentally Sound” examines the various facets of environmental issues, highlighting the diversity of sustainable energy resources and their impact on our daily living with experts from around the area and beyond.
Michigan Municipal League
A new radio show that challenges listeners to help make Michigan a better place to live, work and play by creating vibrant and prosperous local communities premieres at 7 p.m. eastern time Wednesday on News/Talk 760 WJR.
The “Michigan Prosperity Agenda” hour-long program is hosted by Dan Gilmartin, CEO of the Michigan Municipal League (MML). Gilmartin will be joined by various co-hosts and guests. The show is sponsored by MML and the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and is scheduled to air at 7 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of every month in 2010.
Once the show has aired, those unable to tune in Wednesday night can hear excerpts from the radio program at letssavemichigan.com under “The Prosperity Agenda.”
Orthopedics On The Leading Edge
Join host John McCulloch for a one-hour show once a month at 7 p.m., featuring orthopedic doctors and nurses from Beaumont Hospitals. With "Orthopedics on the Leading Edge," experts from Beaumont will provide advice and information about the most innovative and leading edge orthopedic treatments, therapies and research. Learn how you can enjoy a more productive, pain-free life with a discussion of various orthopedic topics such as rehabilitation, surgery, wellness and prevention.
Powering Michigan’s Future
Our world runs on electricity and information technology, and the IBEW/NECA team makes it happen. The monthly program “Powering Michigan’s Future” covers how professionals in our state make it happen – and what it can mean to Michigan business and residents. In an information and technology age where today’s breakthrough is tomorrow’s old news, “Powering Michigan’s Future” will cover the economic, technical and job-creating implications that activities such as new construction and “green building”, new industry applications such as manufacturing of renewable energy components, and new business coming to Michigan, as in the film industry. This program, sponsored by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 58 and the Southeastern Michigan chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association, will enlighten on these topics – and expand on “Powering Michigan’s Future”.
